How it Began

1990- Neve Aliza, Karnei Shomron:  My father purchased a big video camera that sits on your shoulder. As I loved gadgets, I started tinkering around with it.  I shot some videos around the house and got some impressive results.

A neighbor saw me holding the camera and asked me to film their daughter’s bat mitzvah.

They even paid me a couple of shekels and were pleased with the result. An even more valuable reward than those shekels was that I ended up marrying the Bat Mitzvah girl’s sister.  🙂

Over the next few years, I produced, directed, filmed and edited numerous ‘neighborhood’ videos.

1993-  IDF – Golani brigade:  What do you do when you have nothing to do?  Think, think, and think some more.  We didn’t have smartphones or even cellphones back then. My buddies Ari, Nachi, and I decided that as soon as we got out of the army, we’d open a business. The only one of us that had any sort of hands-on experience in any field was me. We some money, took some loans and had help from our loving families – and bought a few video cameras and VCRs.

Long story short, that is how Video Eden was created.

Eden is the acronym of א – ד – ן – which is the first letter of our names.

1995 – we became a ‘real’ registered business in Israel.

Here are some milestones Video Eden has reached since then:

1996 – We used our first ‘studio’ in Maaleh Michmash.

1997 – We moved along with our studio to Bet Shemesh.

1998 – We purchased our first NLE – computerized editing system.

1999 – As the internet emerged, and as the demand grew from quite a few clients, we opened our Simcha Connect live streaming department. At our first “live stream”, we installed an ISDN line, threw cables around the entire venue, and had live sound + an image every 10 seconds! Then we printed the ‘chats’ from international viewers who sent their best wishes in.

2000 – My army buddies are still my best friends – but video was not their forte.

Most clients at the time sought a packaged deal with photography and video together, so I joined forces with Israel Gerstien to provide an all-inclusive package.

We purchased broadcast DVCAM cameras and upgraded our editing systems.

In addition, we employed a few editors.

We gained experience in all fields of videography and photography and made many connections in the field.

2001 – As our team grew, we couldn’t work from home anymore and therefore moved into a large storefront in Bet Shemesh.

2003 – We saw the need for a state of the art facility to provide a pleasant workspace for our team, and to honor our clients by meeting them in a nice office. Our next office relocation was to Petach Tikvah.

2004 – Over the next few years, we moved to Kedumim and then back to Bet Shemesh.

2007 – My partner decided it was time for him to leave the field, leaving me to run the business by myself. B”H my wife has always stood by me, and the three partners are Hashem, my wife and myself.

As cellular lines became more stable and 4G came out, I’ve been involved in purchasing and deploying high-end solutions for durable and high-quality live streaming.  The equipment is portable now and works in almost any venue.  I’ve even developed a few solutions to enable live streaming in low reception venues.

I’ve filmed and live streamed events from different places in the world such as: Antwerp, London, Zurich, Amsterdam, Toronto, New York, and Florida.

2015 – Moshav Yishi.  Daniel Aloni’s studio.

We had the honor of renting space at Daniel’s sound studio.  Daniel has top-notch singers and musicians that come record in his studio.  He uses state of the art equipment and is a professional in every aspect of sound recording.

He also works closely and rents space to Jeff Horvitch, the renowned composer.

I worked with Daniel and Jeff on various projects, and it was a real pleasure.

2020 – Bet Shemesh.  Nofei Aviv.

Because of logistical reasons, I moved the studio right in front of our home.

I have continued working with everyone on this list, and I continue to learn a ton from every one of them. I can genuinely say it has been my pleasure getting to know them on a professional and personal capacity.

Now, with over 25 years of experience filming all types of events, producing hundreds of corporate videos, and with thousands of happy clients, we are well established in the Israeli video world.
